YouTube Bookmarks Saver (the "Extension") is a browser extension designed to help users save and organize YouTube video timestamps for learning purposes. We are deeply committed to protecting your privacy.

2. Data Collection Statement

WE DO NOT COLLECT, STORE, TRANSMIT, OR SHARE ANY USER DATA.

This is not a marketing statement - it's a technical fact. The Extension has no backend servers, no analytics, no tracking mechanisms, and no data collection infrastructure of any kind.

3. What Data is Stored Locally

The Extension stores the following information exclusively on your device using Chrome's built-in local storage API:

• Bookmarks: YouTube video URLs, timestamps, titles
• Your notes: Personal descriptions and comments you add to bookmarks
• Collections: Names and organization of your bookmark collections
• Settings: Theme preferences, language settings

This data NEVER leaves your device. It is not synced, uploaded, or transmitted anywhere.

4. Browser Permissions Explained

The Extension requests the following permissions, and here's exactly why:

📌 activeTab Permission

Why needed: To read the current YouTube video URL and get the timestamp when you click "Save Bookmark"

What we DON'T do: Track your browsing, read other tabs, monitor your activity

💾 storage Permission

Why needed: To save your bookmarks locally in your browser

What we DON'T do: Upload to cloud, sync across devices (unless you use Chrome's native sync), access other extensions' data

🌐 youtube.com Access

Why needed: To inject the bookmark button on YouTube video pages and read video metadata

What we DON'T do: Modify video content, block ads, track viewing habits, access other websites

5. Third-Party Services

The Extension does NOT use any third-party services including:

• ❌ No analytics (Google Analytics, etc.)
• ❌ No crash reporting
• ❌ No advertising networks
• ❌ No social media integrations
• ❌ No external APIs or servers

6. Data Sharing

We do not share any data with third parties because we don't have any data to share.

The only entity that has access to your bookmarks is YOU, on YOUR device.

7. Your Data Rights

You have complete control over your data:

• Export: Download all your bookmarks anytime via the extension
• Delete: Remove individual bookmarks or clear all data
• Uninstall: Removing the extension deletes all local data automatically

8. Children's Privacy

The Extension does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no data at all, this is inherently compliant with COPPA and similar regulations.

9. Chrome Sync

If you have Chrome Sync enabled, Google may sync your locally stored bookmarks across your devices using their infrastructure. This is controlled by your Chrome settings, not by our Extension. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for more information.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we ever make changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We will never reduce privacy protections without clear notice.

Our code is transparent and auditable. You can review exactly what the Extension does by examining the source code in the Chrome Web Store.
